The David’s Sling Test-3 (DST-3) series of tests was completed successfully by the Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) and the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

As announced on 1 April 2015 by the US MDA, the David’s Sling weapon system successfully intercepted threat representative targets and achieved all test objectives.

DST-3 is the third test series of the Stunner interceptor for the David’s Sling system. Programme engineers are currently analysing the information connected, which will be used for the ongoing development and fielding of the David’s Sling system.

Rafael is the prime contract for this system, with Raytheon serving as sub-contractor. Elta, an IAI subsidiary, developed the multi-mission radar. Elsra, an Elbit subsidiary, developed the Golden Almond battle management centre.

The David’s Sling system is a middle-tier defence against rockets and missiles, and aims to improve the active defence architecture of Israel against ballistic missiles.
