It was bright and sunny morning as the sailors and citizens of Pearl Harbor set about their typical Sunday routine. Shortly after 8 AM, a Japanese bomb struck the battleship USS Arizona, setting the ship ablaze. Moments later, the fires reached the forward ammunition magazine setting off a catastrophic explosion and sending the Arizona to the bottom of Pearl Harbor -- with more than 1,100 sailors still trapped inside -- where it remains to this day.
