Army’s Airdropped Humvees Don’t Survive Fall Without Parachutes

The U.S. Army got some negative attention on April 11 when three Army Humvees were destroyed by accident. A routine exercise at Hohenfels, Germany delivered around 150 supply bundles of equipment, weapons and vehicles from aircraft. Yet the Humvees' parachutes failed to deploy, leaving a messy aftermath.
