So one of my folks applied for the attache program, which closed out recently. They made an announcement on their portal page saying that they have received the applications and are reviewing them and will have all the matching done by the end of August.

The end of August. That's more than 10 weeks to match a few dozen people to assignments.

My real pet peeves are

1) Those who are not selected aren't notified. I really hate this. Someone could already be out of the running and have no idea.

2) There are at multiple opportunities they are passing up just waiting until the end of August. There is an annual application cycle for an education program, and they need to submit their names before the end of August. There are Equal Plus opportunities they are not applying for. There is also the regular assignment cycle they can't apply for (for those keeping score, they're on talent marketplace and the CONUS cycle is coming up, this is for anyone eligible to get a CONUS base, not just mando movers for OCONUS returnees).

It just bugs me how there is so little transparency and communication in the process. Not just this process, but all of them.
