Assume that you’re on leave. You’re a couple days back home when a sudden zombie outbreak/COVID on steroids/Godzilla attack/alien invasion/Chinese invasion/whatever were to occur which affects a large chunk of, if not the entire country and its an all hands on deck situation. However, you cannot physically report back to your unit during this emergency for various reasons.

What’s SOP here? If SHTF hard enough, do you just fall in with the nearest local military unit regardless of branch? Report to the nearest unit that’s a part of your branch? Try your best to figure out how to get back to your unit? Stay with whoever you’re with? Help local emergency services however you can?
