We've all seen those oddly specific and sometimes weird, signs, posters and rules that tell us not to do something. Have you ever seen the origin of those rules?

For example.
Have you ever seen anyone put a donut in a toaster?
I was there for that.
Not one of the toasters that you press down on and toast pops up, but the rotisserie ones. Well this new check in decides he wants a bagel. But instead of grabbing one, the dude puts a glazed donut in the toaster.
Not bothering to cut it in half, just takes the whole thing and slaps it in with some plastic tongs.
The donut got stuck, and the toaster caught on fire. He tried to get it out, but the tongs started to melt in the toaster.
They manage to unplug the toaster and get the fire out, but all in all that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
That happened about 6 years ago in San Diego on the 32nd street base galley, and last I checked, there is still a sign up that says, "dont put pastries in the toaster."
