Relax, I'm not getting married as an active duty. This is more about wanting to hear from military folks who left the service to pursuit stable relationships (bc let's be real, the military ain't exactly a hub for this).

I was talking with a buddy who's determined on getting out so that he can be with his wife. While he was never really planning on staying in, it became one of the main reasons now. They've been long distance for more than 3 years because of the military.

I've had thoughts about getting out for awhile, and while the prospect of a stable relationship comes at a higher chance as a civilian (and this has always been at the back of my mind), lately it's become a forefront reason for myself as well. While dating in the military can be easy, maintaining a relationship is another story.

I would like to hear from folks who got out because they wanted to shoot their chance for a stable relationship, because they wanted to end long distance crap, etc. Folks who chose to get out to live a normal civilian life to settle down.
