Thinking about joining up, would appreciate advice from those who have
Posted on
I’ve always thought about joining. As a kid I knew it was what I wanted to do, and knew for sure then that I wanted to be infantry but I basically allowed myself to be talked out of it by my parents and others. I’m generally not very sure of myself and trust others judgement over mine, so when adults told me I shouldn’t do it when I was just a kid/teenager I listened. Fast forward to today and now im 25, have a bullshit business degree and work for a financial company where I feel every second of every day that I don’t belong. I do have a long term relationship that will probably turn into marriage soon though, and this may delay starting a family significantly, maybe more so than would be smart? My question is, at my age is it too late and have I waited too long to have a career in the military? Has anyone who joined regretted it as soon as they got there and just lived in that regret for their contract?
Sorry I know this is kinda just thrown out there and disorganized. Like I said I struggle to make decisions without taking other opinions into account, and any advice would be truly appreciated.
