Hey everyone, brand new Marine here. I've just graduated from MCRD Parris Island, and I'm currently on my 10 days of leave (with about a week left). I've been going out for a run every morning upon returning home because I want to stay physically fit for MCT. Unfortunately, after a doctor's visit yesterday, the doctor told me that I had a minor case of pneumonia that I contracted at Recruit...

If special forces/special operations trains you to handle pain and duress...could they handle the spiciest chicken wings on earth without flipping out?

Looking for gift ideas for my brother who is is being deployed to Kuwait

Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find much online. My brother is being deployed to Kuwait and I want to surprise him when he is there with a care package of some sort. Any ideas on what to send him. I would ask him but I want to make it a surprise. I have heard of DVD's, snacks, nice toilet paper etc but any ideas would help. Thanks! I was hoping for it to be there when he gets...

Years ago I was reading a book that dominantly took place on board a ship (spaceship, mind you, pure fiction) and one line that has stuck with me for some reason was a line from the weapons officer, “Take, take, take, missile away.”
Having done all I could think of to look it up, that “take, take, take” thing doesn’t seem to appear anywhere in real life. My question is, is there some similar piece...
