To Veterans and current service members - Military appreciation in sports: good or bad?

Do you think military appreciation gestures at sporting events, such as Baseball, are good for service members and veterans? Or do you think it’s tacky/forced? Why/why not?
Edit: do you guys stand up at games when they ask service-members to stand?

From an article I saw today. The picture is supposed to be of Marines arriving in Saudi Arabia in 1991. Definitely not Marines (doesn't help the perception of my fellow Airmen) and is that Radar from M.A.S.H. in the background? Link to the full article...

Hi all,
I am ETSing out of the Army after 8 yrs of service as a medic. I have a Bachelor in Nursing, so I'm looking to commission as a nurse in the reserves or guard. Currently exploring all my options. Obviously, retention has already sent Army medical recruiters my way, but I'm really interested in the Air Force for the better quality of life and shorter deployments. I'm open to learning about...
