Going through some old boxes and found two Purple Heart boxes with a few other ribbons in them. I’m planning to request his DD214, but since he served in WWII (unsure which theater, thinking Europe?), I think it’s likely his records were affected by the big records fire. Can anyone here identify what I’m looking at? And is there any way to tell what his two Purple Hearts were awarded for?
