I've been training to join the ranks of the RMC for about 4-5 years now. But recently found our that because I was in temporary foster care due to abuse. I'm more than likely not to be accepted.

And have been advised to attempt the army instead.

So I wanted to join an elite unit, and so I'm going for my 'backup' the parachute regiment.

And was wondering if anyone out there could tell me how likely I'd be to get into the Royal Marines anyway (was recommended to go for a Royal Navy apprenticeship)

And if there were any advantages the Parachute Regiment had over the Royal Marines?

Tried chatting to my brother (RMR) about it, but he cannae tell me much either.
