G'Day guys,

So I tried posting this in r/History, but I wasn't specific enough in my request.

So I contacted the Australian War Memorial, and they recommended that I contact units and ESO's, or just talk to other veterans.

Anyway, I have started a podcast, and specifically, I want to talk about the really crap soldiers.

Not those that do bad things, not those that do war crimes, just those that are bad at their job.

Some of the stories we have covered so far are a Private that order 66,000,000 Camp chairs and another that decided to place blank ammunition in the vicinity of his delicates.

Some stories are short, in <5 minutes, others are long, 10-15 minute sagas, I don't care.

I'd just love to research more soldiers, and if people can put me in contact with unit historians and ESO's that may have stories like this floating around somewhere, that would be greatly appreciated.

I have done a couple episodes on specific soldiers, and they went alright, but I would rather think that the pod is more focused primarily on those stories you tell each other at the smoking point, or to just pass time on Piquet when staring at the darkness.

I'm also getting a LOT of support stories, not as many combat arms.

But yeah, what soldiers, what units, where are these stories that didn't result in medals, that didn't result in glory, didn't result in war crimes charges, where are the stories of just funny stuff that happens?

I'm not alien to stories such as if there was a soldier who lost a map and therefore revealed all the battle plans to the enemy, that's just as interesting as someone that takes a $20 bet to drink the blue water out of the Porta-Toilet.
