Not sure if anyone here can answer this question, I have googled this question and cannot find anything.

I am 25 years old. I have a military dependent ID card that expires in a couple months on my birthday. I received this card as I had Tricare Young Adult insurance. However, a couple years back, I got off Tricare Young Adult and started a new insurance.

My dependent ID card is not expired. BUT, can I still use it to get on base? I have not had any problems getting on my local base I live near. However, I will be going to Virginia for civilian job training next week and I need to know if there will be any possible issue of getting on base. My employer said since my ID card is not expired, it will be fine. But, I have a feeling I shouldn't be using this card to get on base if I do not have Tricare anymore.
