A friend of mine has a child with someone who's in the military. They were never married. Ex is asking my friend to provide proof that he's been paying child support to her, which he has been, off and on. She is suspicious of his motives. Ex now claims that with a notarized statement from my friend regarding the support, he can get some sort of pay increase (he wasn't specific on the details). Is this true? Does the military pay extra to those in service if they can prove they are paying child support?
