Medic Opportunities in the Army vs Air Force
Posted on
Will be graduating with my bachelor's in the next year or so. I've always wanted to join the military and the GI bill/TA would help with my student loans. I already have my NREMT-P and want to continue with healthcare if I join.
That said, I'm ok with water but not a fan of living on a ship for months at a time so navy and CG aren't at the top of my list. That leaves army and air force. Obviously life isn't as "comfortable" in the army compared to the air force. Other than quality of life, which branch offers more opportunities for their medics? The specialties I'm interested in are flight/ air evac and instructing. I'm aware both branches offer these specialties, but how common are they and how competitive are they to get into?
I know I could apply to commission but I want a more hands-on experience.
