I enlisted in the USMC when I was 17 years old because I didn’t think I could get in to college. I did, so I didn’t ship out. I joined AFROTC in college, but I couldn’t wake up at 5am on Fridays. I wanted to party, lol.

I thought I’d join after college because I didn’t think I could land a job. I did. Now I’m 26, no debt, healthy, no record, and I have my shit together.

I’ve always wanted to serve and my desire has only gotten stronger as time has gone on, but the clock is ticking. However, my career is just starting to kick off. I also make a lot, so the economics of doing it are downright absurd.

Would joining the reserves be stupid right now?
