How much fighting force does Ukraine have left?
Posted on
In 2021 a Ukraine had a population of 43.79 million people, according to Google. Shortly after the invasion, roughly 12 million people left Ukraine (according to the last number I heard). So that brings them down to 31.79 million people. Assume half of the population is women, they’re down to roughly 16 million men/boys, maybe less. What % of these men are fighting the Russians? I’m asking because the NYT is reporting that Ukraine has 500,000 war casualties (KIA & WIA), compared to Russia’s roughly 300,000 casualties. Linked. How much longer can Ukraine fight? Reuter’s posted on July 25 that Russia increased its age of conscription from 27 to 30 to increase professional and combat personnel to 1.5 million. [link] [comments] |
