How do I actually increase my cardio?

I’m getting ready for basic and one of the schools I’m trying to go to is air assault and I’ve seen there’s 12 miles Ruck jogs. My cardio right now is about as bad as it gets. I’ve tried working on it for years but have made no progress. Every video I see from a social media influencer says a completely different take on how to improve it. I have absolutely no cardio and I’ve worked myself like David goggins yet I haven’t had any results how do I get better cardio and be able to jog for 25+ miles?
