I was recently reading pros and cons for females in combat arms, and one of the arguments was that, compared with male soldiers who are taken prisoner (or left dead), the blow to military psyche would be worse if it was a female. However, I haven't really seen extremist muslims treating women "badly" even when they're from enemy nations (reporters, UN workers, etc).

Why do people think muslim extremists would treat female US soldiers particularly badly? Have they ever done this when they had females in their care?
