With improvements in body armour, armoured vehicles and automated weapon platforms on the horizon, has any military looked into using HEAT style low caliber ammunition as a future solution.

In WWII tank armour had become impenetrable to standard ammunition so HEAT style rounds were developed to counter the armour. Where a shaped high explosive charge is used to generate extreme heat that can then cut through and penetrate metal armour.

Just in case we end up having battles like this in the future...
