Hey guys. Recently became 18 and also got called by Belgian Defence after doing all my tests and I can start 17 september. Joining the army has always been a dream to me but 1 year and a half ago I met this wonderfull girl who is still my girlfriend untill this day.

In the beginning of 2019 I decided to ‘stop’ the joining the army idea and i signed up to start in college to do something IT related (really interested in this), partly because my girlfriend was really crying over the fact that i’m joining it and that we will almost never see eachother. Since then i never thought again about joining but some days ago they called me to say that I’m able to start..

Told my girlfriend and she told me that she cannot have such a life and would break up if i joined. She says that i have to follow my heart, but my heart is also with her.. but i also want to join.. Her idea is to try the college idea maybe for a few years, and join after that.. but i’d really like to join now.. but I really don’t want to lose her because I really love her..

Just don’t know what to do..
