so sorry if i sound like an idiot but im not really sure how front lines and battles work, i made this quick drawing to better explain myself, essentially the black is the front lines, the yellow is parts of the frontline that actually have soldiers. anyway, ill use the eastern front in ww2 as an example, so assuming you couldn’t possibly have troops along the whole frontline (not just ww2), why didnt they just move large amounts of soldiers through the empty spots, is it because they would be spotted before they attacked or?
