Anyone have experience as a member of both? I was in the Army Reserve and got the impression we generally had better equipment than guard units and a little more support from higher up the chain, but that was around 20 years ago. My impression at the time was that guard units were generally more ate up, but I don't necessarily hold that view now. Does it depend more on the individual unit than whether it is a guard vs. reserve unit?
