I am hoping someone in here can answer this question for me, around 2 years ago I was discharged from the Army NG for failure to ship to IET within 24 months. I went to basic when I was 17 as a sto 1, graduated basic training and continued my high school year as a senior. During football I had sustained an injury to my hip requiring surgery, this prevented me from shipping to AIT. I got a phone call randomly telling me they were discharging me for not shipping within the time period, and that was it.

I am considering going back into the Army NG and hopefully able to get back in, I know having an RE-3 is already going to be hard enough to waiver but also having the hip surgery I worry it’ll be an even bigger problem. If I get past all of these waivers will I need to go back through Basic? As I said it’s been 2 years being out, without even making it to AIT but graduating Basic.
