Any hope for getting back in? ATTN: Recruiters
Posted on
Long story short: Joined the Air Guard in 2016 while in college, failed UA for THC November '19, memorandum recommending discharge in December '19, taken off orders (at the time I was being put on revolving orders every 20-30 days pretty much for the previous 6 months on base daily and doing airdrops 3x weekly) and told I didn't have to come to drill anymore either around March '20 and received a General Discharge with reenlistment code 6H on my NGB22. Never failed a UA before or gotten anything higher than a LOC for D&A (my hair grew longer than regs and command was strict on it), received commanders awards everywhere I went (frequently did TDYs in my short time and went to several schools in my initial year/2), all around good airmen whose only issues were being ~5-10 minutes late for drill NMT 2 times driving a 300 mile trip for those weekends, but even that stopped when I started receiving those revolving orders (was in position for a temp tech slot opening up 🤦♂️). My understanding was normally you can get other punishments and a bust down in rank before being straight kicked out, but that wasn't my case apparently.
There any light for basically ANY branch to let me back in? I'm not a user (how I popped hot that time is a long story) so testing clean isn't a concern, and I don't have any trouble with civilian LE other than traffic infractions.
