Yugoslav War story

The Gentle Warrior
By the time the war began in the 1990s my dad was only 17 and was selected to fight along with five other of his close cousins and one of them who moved to Australia with my dad and a really close. And at first sight he may not anything like a soldier and his name in croatian translates as gentle deer but the story my dad told was crazy and went like this. It was 1994 and my dad was sent with his cousin and four other people to go up a mountain and to help a platoon move refugees to another area of the mountains. While that was happening my dad was helping move civilians while his cousin and two other people stayed on the mountain to report anythiing. But at one point my dad had begun to hear the Bosnian Muslim war song accompanied by gunfire so my dad and five others had gone up and say that there were dead 15 Muslims and that my dad's cousin shot all of them while keeping his friend alive while another was dead.
After helping their friend to the medbay the 10 of them went to the next village to free the other civilian's line for execution and from that point onward by man dad said that was the bravest man he'd met in a life time.
