February is over. We had a great time with the drunken AMA. I'm also going to use the opportunity to announce another special event that should hit the subreddit soon. When it does, it will be made an announcement as well, so make sure you can read those. I'll tease it a little bit by saying this, "Fuck cancer."
Reminder: New monthly winner awards are Community Award for 1st place, Reddit Gold for second place and Reddit Silver for third place. All three may also have custom user flair if they like.
Your Story of the Month for February is "Mohammed's Radio" by /u/dittybopper. Ditty is one of just a few Vietnam era posters so we love him for that, but he is also a nice guy and an amazing author. Congratulations. You will get gilded and may have custom flair if you like - contact the moderation team.
Our Runner-Up for February is "Why I am glad they repealed DADT" by /u/Cleverusername531. It was a hateful piece of legislation. I salute you for being brave enough to share and write about your experience. I hope it helped. You will get gilded and may have custom flair if you like - contact the moderation team.
Our Honorable Mention for February is "Gas Chamber Immunity" by /u/norcalathlete. Like I said in the comments there, we had a drill sergeant that was immune. Crazy to me anyone can be immune to that after experiencing it. You will get gilded and may have custom flair if you like - contact the moderation team.
Everyone stay safe and we will see you next month.
Congratulations to our winners!
January 2023 Winner "I can absolutely refuse a NJP and I will SSGT" by /u/nospamkhanman.
February 2023 Winner "Mohammed's Radio" by /u/dittybopper.
Q: How are winners chosen?
A: We look at upvotes, comment history, community awards/reddit awards and throw in a bit of the "arbitrary mods" rule. It isn't completely scientific, but it is close.
