What are your recommendations for a smaller sized 9mm for camping? (not looking to debate caliber) I’ve been camping and hiking in areas with black bear and mountain lion populations. I’m going to start carrying bear spray, but I want something lethal just in case. I usually bring my shotgun, but that stays in the tent. I’ve checked out the Ruger EC9, which I think I’m probably going for, but I’m curious about what else is out there since I’m not much of a handgun guy and don’t know a lot about them. Looking for sub $500 recommendations.
