The new URO VAMTAC armored vehicles with robotic arm for manipulating explosives spotted near Mosul in Iraq.

The new armored vehicles manufactured by the Spanish company UROVESA  and  belong to Iraq army. The vehicles equipped with a robotic arm for manipulating explosives, produced by PROYTECSA.

Robotic arms that are manufactured and designed by PROYTECSA SECURITY to tackle threats involving EOD, CIED, LVBIED or CBRN. If necessary, its arm can be extended to over 10 metres, thus enabling access to elevated areas where hazardous artefacts may have been placed.

The basic VAMTAC measures 4.84 m in length and 1.9 m in height with an overall track of 1.86 m and a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 5,300 kg. It is in essence a facelifted S3 production model with exterior alterations such as a new front bumper and bonnet, and new lights.

The VAMTAC  range also includes the optionally armoured ST5-HD, 2HD, and 3HD variants, which can vary in GWV from 6,000 kg to 9,500 kg and feature ballistic protection of up to STANAG 4569 Level 3.
