Ukrainian company unveils test footage of newest Varta-Novator armoured vehicle

Kyiv-based design and manufacturing company UKRAINIAN ARMOR announced on 26 December it successfully tests of its Varta-Novator specialized armoured vehicle, which could be used for the needs of the National Guard of Ukraine.
A photograph and video of the new armoured vehicle were released during a visit by the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Colonel-General Yuriy Allerov.
‘The armored vehicle was constructed taking into account the modern demands for the equipment of the detachments of the special purpose with the use of chassis that is adapted for the exploration at the most difficult conditions of the impassability. ‘Novator’ possesses the more compact size and it is lighter in comparison with the previous model ‘Varta’. Also, it is equipped with the additional options that provide the comfort and security of the crew, the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on December 26 at Facebook.
During the test checked indicators terrain, agility and dynamic quality boundary conditions and load matching performance requirements specification.

The Varta-Novator is a 4×4 armoured vehicle is based on a Ford F550 chassis to accomodate up to five equipped soldiers. The specialized armored vehicle has a length of 5.80 m, a width of 2.405 m and a height of 2.164 m for a gross vehicle weight of 9,000 kg, including a payload capacity of up to 1,000 kg.

The vehicle is powered by a 6,7l turbo diesel engine, with 300 hp of output. This will provide the vehicle with a maximum speed of 120 km/h and an operational range of 700 km thanks to the 160l fuel tank capacity.
