Ukrainian army has received a new armored vehicles KrAZ “Spartan”. New armored vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns 12.7 K- ukrainian production, which can fire at ranges up to 1500 meters.

In early August 2014, the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine ordered 21 KrAZ Spartan LAVs for the needs of the National Guard of Ukraine. After the military parade dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine (August 24, 2014) they were sent to the zone of counter-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine.

KrAZ “Spartan” is a licensed version STREIT Group’s Spartan Armored Personnel Carrier. Spartan APC features full vehicle armoring with certified ballistic steel and is designed to resist external ballistic threats from any angle. With outstanding on and off road performance the Spartan is specifically designed for high mobility on all types of terrains.

The Streit Group Spartan 4×4 APC is motorized by a FORD V8-6.7L Turbo Diesel engine coupled to a OEMD FORD F550 automatic transmission with five speed. The Spartan 4×4 can run at a maximum road speed of 110 km/hr with a maximum cruising range of 800 km. The vehicle is able to negotiate side slopes up to 35%, gradient up to 60 % and to cross water obstacle of 1.2m depth.
