Ukraine sold 108 BRDM-2 armoured reconnaissance vehicles to UAE

The State Service of Export Control of Ukraine reported that a 108 BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicles were sold to a customer in the United Arab Emirates in 2016.
The BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicles were repaired at Mykolayiv Armoured Plant in Ukraine and delivered to the UAE in the end of 2016. These armored vehicles are possibly bought in the interests of loyal to the UAE partners in Libya and Yemen.
The BRDM-2 is a Soviet-made amphibious armored patrol car. Currently, this amphibious scout car is in service with the Russian army and is used by over 50 countries worldwide. The armor of the BRDM-2 provides protection only against small firearms and small caliber artillery fragments.
