A busy highway in Vladivostok is shut down after a Russian modern Pantsir missile system rollover crash on Monday morning

Two soldiers were injured in a rollover accident in a Pantsir-S air defense systems in Vladivostok.

The accident occurred on the highway Sedanka – Patroclus, the road leads to Russky Island.

Witnesses told that the military truck with missiles rolled over after a long turn on the descent to the road junction.

Two soldiers have been injured in the crash, though dispatchers do not know the severity injuries at this time.

According to social media posts, the driver was killed in a rollover accident. However, according to Nikolai Voskresensky, head of the information support department of the press service of the Supreme Military District for the Pacific Fleet, the servicemen were not injured.

For reference, the Pantsir missile system is a family of self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile systems. Pantsir-S (NATO reporting name SA-22 Greyhound) is a combined short to medium range surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery weapon system produced by KBP of Tula, Russia. The system is a further development of 2K22 Tunguska (NATO reporting name: SA-19/SA-N-11) and represents the latest air defense technology by using phased array radars for both target acquisition and tracking.
