At least seven terrorists were killed in airstrikes carried out by Turkish fighter jets in the southeastern Hakkari province Tuesday, according to Anadolu.
The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media, said that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) carried an air operation when two PKK targets in the vicinity of the Daglica region of Hakkari’s Yuksekova district were spotted.
In the operation, seven terrorists were “neutralized” and PKK gun emplacements were also destroyed, the sources added.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU, and resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, PKK terrorist attacks have martyred more than 600 security personnel and also claimed the lives of many civilians, including women and children, while more than 7,000 PKK terrorists were killed in army operations.
