Turkish firm Otokar is shown armoured fighting vehicle Cobra II
Cobra II is the follow-on to the original and highly successful Cobra, which has been built in large numbers for the home and export markets. Otokar has confirmed that the Cobra II will be marketed alongside the original Cobra.
The Cobra II has more volume, payload and protection and is being shown here fitted with the Otokar-developed Keskin remote weapon station (RWS). This RWS can be armed with a 7.62mm or .50 machine gun (MG), or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher; the version at the show is armed with a .50 M2 HB MG.
Six preproduction Cobras have been built, of which two are in the fully amphibious configuration, fitted with two propellers mounted one under either side at the rear of the hull.
Maximum GVW is 12 tonnes.
