Turkish military hit Islamic States (IS) targets in response to mortar shell from northern Syria, Turkish media CNNturk reported on Tuesday.
Turkish army fired 40 shells at four IS targets in Syria after a mortal shell fired from the IS-controlled Jarablous in northern Syria landed in neighborhood of southeastern Turkish province of Gaziantep early Tuesday morning.
Turkish army howitzers stationed inside Turkey shelled IS targets in Syria’s Jarablous and the Syrian wing of the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK), the Democratic Union Party, in northern Manbij late Monday.
Witnesses report that the Turkish tanks enter Jarabulus, Aleppo Governorate in Syria.
It is worth noting that the Turkish military official denies that tanks crossed the border, in a statement to Turkish media.
