On the 9th of May, 2015, at the military parade in Moscow marking the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Russian-made heavy unified battlefield platforms of the “Armata” series will be demonstrated for the first time.

“A new main battle tank is a rarity for most of the armies of the world”, notes the German edition of Stern. “The tank Leopard-2 of the Bundeswehr (German Army) was created over 35 years ago, the American M1 Abrams is also of the same age.”

Technical and combat characteristics of the Russian T-14 have not yet been declassified. The only information released is that the creators have changed the tank’s traditional layout and have used all potential discoveries made in the domestic tank building sector. The turret is vacant (unmanned) and is equipped with an autoloader. A crew will be protected by an armored capsule. This will save lives of the crew members, even in case of detonation of shells inside the tank. The T-14 will be protected by a multilayer armor created with the help of the latest innovations in the field of defence technologies.
