Spanish Navy Marines get first units of the Uro Vamtac ST5.
The first two units of the new VAMTAC ST5 are already at the base of the Third of the Navy in San Fernando (Cádiz). With his arrival begin deliveries of the 99 units has acquired the Navy for the Marine Corps.
This is the new model of armored manufactured by the Galician company UROVESA for the Armed Forces, under the contract signed in 2013 to supply 772 units of this vehicle.
Of these, 519 are intended for Army, 78 of them for emergency transport and equipment EMU and 76 for the Air Force. The Navy, meanwhile, has bought 99 units for the Marine Corps.
The vehicle is specifically designed to operate in any environment, including desert -can be the air intake on the door delantera-, wears camouflage colors of the Marine Corps and a shield reinforced over previous versions.
