Slovakia and Poland developed new «Diana» tracked self-propelled howitzer

Slovakia and Poland developed new «Diana» artillery system and is currently presented at the international exhibition MSPO 2015 in Poland’s Kielce.
The «Diana» 155mm tracked self-propelled howitzer based on a new tracked armoured chassis with an armoured turret mounted in the center of the chassis.
According to Director General William DMD Group Dubovický This is another concrete project Slovak and Polish defense industry. “We believe that may have their application mainly in third markets. I am also glad that in recent years the armaments industry Považí revive and artillery system that Diana was created thanks to support current leadership of the Defense Ministry,” said a press release the Ministry of Defense William Dubovická.
The main armament consists of one 155mm 52 caliber which can fire standard NATO ammunitions. The vehicle carries a total of 80 projectiles and charges with 40 rounds ready to fire in the turret and 40 rounds in the chassis. When travelling, the 155 mm/45 calibre ordnance is held in a travel lock and when not required, folds forwards onto the glacis plate of the tracked chassis.
The DIANA can fire from a range of 5 to 41 km.
