Sevastopol Plant can Obtain an Order for the Repair of Two Mi-17 in Laos

Holding “Helicopters of Russia” discussing the possibility of repairing the two Lao Mi-17 at Sevastopol ( Disputed: Ukraine – de jure and Russia – de facto) repair plant, said RIA Novosti deputy general director of the holding Alexander Scherbinin on Tuesday.
“Currently under discussion the possibility of repairing the two Lao Mi-17 at Sevastopol repair plant” – said Scherbinin during the exhibition Dubai Airshow-2015.
Mi-17 – is a multi-purpose helicopter, export version of the Mi-8. The versatility and high performance characteristics make the helos of this series one of the world’s most popular Russian-made helicopters.
According to the Center for Analysis of World Arms Trade (Russia), Army of Laos nearly 100% equipped with Soviet weapons and military equipment, most of the samples that were produced in 1950-1970.
The contract to supply 12 multi-role Mi-17 helicopters was signed with Laos in 1996. In 1997, two helicopters were delivered, the remaining 10 helos – two years later.
