Reconnaissance group of the Russian Airborne Command defined dangerous areas for landing on ice floats in the Arctic.

Russian paratroopers and polar explorers checked condition and drift direction of the largest ice floats in the water zone of the Arctic Ocean.

In the nearest future, the reconnaissance group is to make research of possible landing areas in direction of the North Pole.

The operation is held in cooperation with military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces and Expedition Centre of the Russian Geographical Society.
