The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) is to receive its first Yak-152 trainers by the end of 2017.

Five Yak-152 training aircraft will be built in 2017 by the Irkut Corporation, a subsidiary of the  United Aircraft Corp.

By the end of this year, it is planned to build the first batch of three Yak-152 in Irkutsk for their subsequent delivery to the Air Force Aerospace Force of Russia. In addition, two more planes must be built to intensify flight tests.

Yak-152 primary training aircraft constitutes a new trend of Irkut Corporation activity in the sphere of flight trainer development.

Yak-152 aircraft is a component of the integrated training system designated for training pilots of contemporary and prospective aircraft. This system also includes flight simulators, computerized classrooms, as well as monitoring and control means.

Yak-152 provides an implementation of key tasks of primary flight training by day and night.
