Qatar ordered 1500 Amazon vehicles from Turkish manufacturer BMC

The largest contract that was announced by the Qatar’s military. Turkish manufacturer BMC will build 1,500 of its new Amazon 4×4 armoured vehicles for the Qatar Armed Forces and Police.

The first batch of 35 Amazon 4×4 armoured vehicles will be delivered in April and all vehicles will be delivered within 2 years. BMC first launched the Amazon at the 2016 Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference in Qatar. According to Turkish daily Cumhuriyet, some 49 percent of Turkish defense company BMC has been sold to a Qatari company in 2015.
The vehicle, according to company officials, is ideal for both police and military use in urban operations. The Amazon can accommodate up to seven personnel. It comes with extra armor and remote gun-station system options.
The distinguishing features of the vehicle are as follows: Automatic fire extinguishing system, central tire inflation system, run flat tire inserts, rear view camera, blackout and camouflage lighting.
