Scientific and Production Association Practika displayed a new КОZАК-5PML specialized armored vehicle for pyrotechnic teams at the Arms and Security 2018 international specialized exhibition in Kyiv, Ukraine.
According to the company official, the new vehicle was developed for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, to transport unexploded mines and improvised explosive devices.
It is a specialized modification of the light utility armored vehicle «Kozak-5», that also based on the Ford F550 chassis.
It is currently being manufacturing with a 330 hp diesel engine coupled to an automatic transmission and with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 9,5 tonnes, although the weight can fluctuate depending on the weapon fit and armour package.
The vehicle has a length of 6.3 m, a width of 2.3 m, and a height of 2.5 m – excluding the spare wheel and roof accessories.
The constructive difference lies in a longer wheelbase and the special design of body, that allows withstanding the blast wave in the event of unsuspected explosion of mines/IEDs that are transported. Also, the vehicle has a technical compartment for special tools of a pyrotechnic team.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine received a batch of 8 КОZАК-5PML specialized armored vehicles for pyrotechnic teams on 8 June 2018.
