Lockheed Martin receives $33,7M for Norwegian C-130J support

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Corp. was awarded a $33,7 million contract for C-130J long-term sustainment support for the Royal Norwegian Air Force, according to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
According to a statement released by the DoD, the estimated value of the first order is $6,155,584. Th contractor will provide the Royal Norwegian Air Force with return and repair support, spares support, engineering support, and in-country representative support for their C-130J aircraft platform.
Work will be performed in Marietta, Georgia, and Gardermoen Air Station, Norway, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2019.
Powered by four Allison AE2100D3 turboprop engines, the C-130J Super Hercules is a heavy-lift transport aircraft used for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refuelling, as well as maritime patrol and aerial fire-fighting missions.
The C-130J Super Hercules has proven its reliable, efficient and can operate in the harsh environments of combat.
This rugged aircraft is often the first aircraft in, touching down on austere landing strips before any other transport to provide humanitarian relief after natural disasters.
The C-130J also counts capabilities as diverse as Special Operations, aerial refueling, firefighting, close air support, search and rescue and personnel recovery.
