LAAD 2015: Brazil-made Gladiador II makes first appearance

Brazilian corporate group Grupo Inbra Filtro has unveiled an updated version of its Gladiador 4×4 armoured vehicle at this year’s LAAD exhibition in Rio de Janeiro.
The VBMT-LR Gladiador II now features upgraded armour with NATO STANAG 4569 Level 2 ballistics protection and Level 2A standard floor protection.
Several companies Brazilian partnerships participate and support the Gladiator II. Some components and systems are at present imported by subsidiaries of foreign companies established in Brazil and the intention is the gradual nationalization of the items as the production is established.
The Gladiator II has a weight in running order in the order of 8200 kg and 1000 kg capacity to take charge. The project has the flexibility to reconfigure the vehicle to meet missions, such as:. recognition, advanced observation post, command post, anti-tank, mortar, radar, workshop, ambulance and electronic warfare.
