Kuwait, Ukraine sign agreement for military & security cooperation

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held talks with First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on 19 March.
The parties noted the availability of all necessary prerequisites for the successful implementation of joint projects in the field of military-technical cooperation.
Further bilateral measures have been agreed upon in order to present the potential of Ukrainian armaments and military equipment in Kuwait.

The parties praised the signing of an agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of Kuwait on cooperation in the military and other spheres.

On October 30, 2017, as part of a tour in the Middle East, the new Ukrainian transport aircraft conducted a demonstration flight in Kuwait with the participation of the Kuwaiti Air Forces.
An-178 can use unpaved runways in hot and dusty environments. The aircraft will progressively replace Antonov An-12 (1400 aircraft were delivered) and Transall C-160 transport aircraft (214 aircraft were delivered).
