An Air Force An-2 propeller driven biplane made an emergency landing on a stream in Andong, 268 kilometers southeast of Seoul, military authorities said Thursday.

Military sources and rescue teams said the two crew members walked out of the stricken plane that landed in the middle of Banbyun stream near the Gyeongbuk Institute for Bio-industry around noon.

Authorities said engine problems may have forced the Russian-made plane out of the sky, although the exact cause of the mishap needs to be identified.

They said there were no oil leaks near the plane.
