Kazakhstan’s Air Forces receives new C295 military transport aircraft

The Kazakh Air and Air Defence Forces on 24 November received the new C295 military transport aircraft, the press service of the Kazakh Defense Ministry reports.
Earlier, the Air Force of Kazakhstan has already received an aircraft of this type from the total number ordered. By 2018 the military fleet of Kazakhstan will have been equipped with a total of 8 C295 aircraft. In addition to the aircraft, the contract also includes deliveries for spares and a support package.

The C295 is a multirole transport aircraft in the light and medium segment. It can perform armed and ground intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations using a multi-mission radar. The plane can also be modified to carry weapons.
The aircraft is a multi-functional military cargo plane with the flying range of 5,500km and the cargo capacity of 9 tons or 73 militarymen. It can be re-equipped into a medical plane for transportation of 41 injured persons.
